Ondray the Goomba Giant(Original fan Character)BIO

Ondray was an ordinary Goomba in the service of Bowser, part of the 12th Goomba battalion he was head strong and arrogant and had a very short temper. He’s fought in the last 3 battles against Peach and Mario.

The one thing this Goomba hated was to be stomped on the head by Mario. It hurt his ego and as a result shortened his already short fuse to the point where he’d rant and rave about how he’d get his revenge. After the events of Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside Story Ondray found and took a Giga Mushroom in an attempt to stomp on Mario (in an unseen adventure), unfortunately just as he was about to stomp on Mario the plumber tossed a mini Mushroom at Ondray which reversed the effects of the Giga Mushroom but also caused Ondray to faint with intense pain and he entered a coma from which he did not awake from for a year.

When he awoke he soon discovered he could alter his size between his usual size to Giga size when he got angry. Bowser allowed Ondray to remain as part of the army but was sure to make Ondray realise that Bowser was the true one in charge.

Now Ondray trains for a re-match against Mario. Ondray had a chance of a little practice when he was drafted in to destroy the menace called Green Thunder, but the angry Goomba soon found out his new opponent is no push over.

I wanted someone who would be powerful and imposing for Green Thunder to fight that was not Tor Vault, someone who could at least look like he could have half a chance of beating him, and I thought a Goomba who has become tried of being stomped on and wanted to do something about it sounded interesting and as far as I am aware no such Goomba exists in the Mario world (Correct me if I’m wrong) plus in a way it mirrored Luigi and his Green Thunder alter ego in that Luigi is tried of being considered second best and Ondray tired of being stomped on, both want to do something about it and both accidentally found a solution.

The name Ondray was chose as a reference to Andre the Giant, a fearsome French wrestler and actor.

This sprite was built from the bits of the Goomba King from the Paper Mario series. So though I created the character the sprite was built from something else. www.spriters-resource.com/nint…
